Ongoing vigils

Today is the ninth vigil in Rock Hill, SC sponsored by thew York County (SC) Greens. Participants have covered the political spectrum and are not all Greens. Democrats, Republicans and independents as well as other political persuasions have come together to call for an end to this war.

The fifth vigil was smaller, with maybe thirteen people there.

The sixth was COLD…very cold, and we were down to about ten hardy souls, and as always, our friend Elija, our 16 month old peacenick, was there despite the cold.

The seventh vigil was back up a bit, to maybe fifteen folks. My report on the eighth vigil is below. Sorry to be so short on the recent past vigils, but my memory stinks and if I don’t get it down right away there is a good chance I’ll get it wrong.

For the past eight weekends the York County (SC) Greens have held a peace
vigil at the corner of Eden Terrace and Oakland Avenue.

Last weekend we were up to about thirty five, due in large part to a group of students from across the Carolinas
who were in Rock Hill at the behest of the Socialist Student Union at
Winthrop University for an area student conference. I would guess that between 20 and 25 of us were those same students.

Photos, if I have done this right, are linked to below.
